I know it will be hard to get over you
When seeing you makes me jittery
When your smile lights my inner fires
Sitting there in the cold but warm inside
And when looking at you leaves me grinning.

It will be hard to get over you
When your showing up makes me abandon those I had with me
And just feeling at home sitting by your side
Turning sideways just to see you blush
Wondering how it is possible that I still make you blush.

It is impossible to get over you
While we speak holding hands in church
Everything feeling so natural, nothing amiss
Well knowing we really wanna hug each other tight
Oblivious to our surroundings
Wrapped in our own world like candy
Singing in harmony and conversation in sink.
Telling you that that child looks good on you
Well knowing I meant that child could be ours
And this really could be us.

It will be hard to get over you
When I don’t want you to stay
But I can’t bear seeing you go
Missing you as soon as you look the other way
Wishing we would part no more
And every touch now a memory
Every conversation attached to my soul.

It will definitely be impossible to get over you,
My friends still talk about you
As if you are my girlfriend
Telling me that we are so good together
Ain’t we though?
We are the right height and we need no effort to make each other happy,
They tell me to never give up
When I know giving up is the only solution.

Is it easy letting me go?
And is your heart content without me?
For mine isn’t without you
It’s painful to know you have this huge grip over my heart
Yet it would be terrible if this grip would ever loosen
I would rather have you not mine
Than not have you at all
For it is impossible to get over you.
